 THE PROBLEM

18 MILLION CARS

ARE CHOKING CANADA

WE MUST REDUCE

OUR DEPENDENCE ON GAS

THE PROBLEM

Car pollution is one of the leading problems in global warming, but unlike a lot of things we can actually make a difference it this. Cars and trucks emit carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases. These greenhouse gases are known for being terrible polluters to the environment as the earth’s atmosphere traps all the heat inside. Air pollution is not only bad for our planet but bad for us too. Breathing in all these chemicals is not healthy nor safe for us.

Air pollution is such a problem because of the amount of personally owned vehicles. While we can’t just wipe cars from our society something has to be done to reduce the amount of cars we see on the road, especially in busy cities like Vancouver. Think about a hockey game - approximately 18,000 people are all driving to the same place. While they’re coming from all around the city there are definitely lots of people that could be taking transit or riding their bike instead of everyone driving their own cars.

We take for granted being able to just get in our cars and drive to wherever we want to go without stopping, but if we keep being that spoiled our earth will become too hot to save. We need people to rely on transit and bikes instead of their own cars if we want to have a future on our earth.
